Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Jesus loves all of his creation, but He made only one creature in HIS image, and that creature is you and me. We are created in HIS likeness, which means He cares for us. Even more than the birds, I care for you.
Because he cares for me deeply, part of that care involves teaching. My Father continually teaches me lessons on His Faithfulness and His sovereignty, and those lessons aren’t learned during the easiest of times. These past few weeks have been utter chaos, and in the midst of every terrifying time, in the midst of every time where I just felt like yelling at the top of my lungs, “I QUIT!”
God says,
Beloved… lean on me;
Beloved…. listen to me;
Beloved…. trust in me, in my timing, and in my provision;
Beloved… you cant do this alone
Beloved… don’t carry this burden
Beloved… my grace is sufficient for you
Beloved… MY ways are far greater than your ways
I am so thankful for God’s whispers as he quiets my soul like only He can. He gives a peace that surpasses any and all understanding, and it’s His peace that I’m resting in as I type this blog.
I’m coming to terms with the fact that the journey of the World Race doesn’t begin in January when I’m on the plane on the way to South Africa. The journey has begun, and God is preparing me through this part of the journey. God has lessons for me now, in South Carolina. These lessons are preparing me for what I will experience from January-November, and for the rest of my life after the race. Lessons such as His faithfulness, His sovereignty, and His provision.

Whew, that’s a lot of money. That money doesn’t include the $1600 for shots and immunizations, or the $785 for insurance, or the $1000 for my gear. There is no earthly way that I can get that much money by December, and meet each of my deadlines up until then.
But guess what? God doesn't want me to get that money in an earthly way. He wants people to see this situation and say, "Look what GOD can do." God’s bank account doesn’t have numbers…it’s endless. And so is His provision. I know that this is the plan He has for me; therefore I will rest in the fact that He will provide, in His way, in His timing.
When Satan uses those numbers to overwhelm me, to bog me down my response should be like Jesus’s response to Satan when he was tempted in the wilderness.
“Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ (Matthew 4:10)
I choose now to rebuke Satan. I choose to worship my God, and to serve Him only. I will not be a slave to this money. I will serve Jesus, I will trust in Him.
I love how this story ends, right after Jesus rebukes Satan look what happens, “Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.” (Matthew 4:11)
The devil left Him.
The angels came to Him.
Praise the Lord.
Will you stop now and pray about being one of the many angels that God sends my way? Will you ask The Lord if He would ask you to bless this mission God has called me to?
