So it’s been a while hasn’t it? It amazes me how much life and transition has happened within the months since I last updated. I moved down here to answer the call God gave me and to seek Him and His purposes for the Gainesville community and I continue to find Him on a daily basis. I find Him in the family formed in my housemates- Mark & Kathy, Leah, Cameron, Constance, and Kevin. I find Him in the extraordinary lives of each one of the missionaries at AIM that I am privileged to call friends. I find Him in the way He is connecting churches and communities here in Gainesville and around the world. I find Him in the way He answers prayer, from yes’s to no’s and from djembes to healings. I find Him in the way He whispers His ideas to me and than has me sit back and watch as He orchestrates them. I find Him in the delight in seeing His children come alive as they find their identities in Him. I find Him in laughter throughout the day. I find Him in tears sometimes at night. Sometimes I even find Him in waffle fries. But most of all in my move to the South, I find God is faithful.
He is faithful to complete the work that He starts. Being here with no official title or role can make my life seem a little vague sometimes and it can be frustrating to try and describe to people what I do here without being able to explain it using a job description. The good thing is though, without roles or titles, I’m free to say yes to whatever He gives me to do. It’s an interesting season to be in, one requiring a lot of trust on my part because I’m not used to having such a fluid lifestyle. It also requires me to have faith that He will accomplish through me what He says He will. The different things I’m given to do are sometimes over my head and usually way outside my comfort zone but really, for God’s purposes to be accomplished, all He needs is a yes. So for better or for worse, I keep saying yes. That’s what brought me to Georgia and that is why I’m still here. Yes.
Yes to moving in with 6 other people I don’t know and becoming a family.
Yes to praying over and for the people in Adventures.
Yes to running prayer rooms at different World Race events.
Yes to worship nights at our house.
Yes to speaking up when I want to be quiet.
Yes to having a role in forming the prayer & worship branch of the CGA (a discipleship school for ex-world racers).
Yes to planning 24 hour worship events for the Adventures family.
Yes to praying for anyone and everyone.
Yes to not having a job in order to be fully involved and available in ministry.
Yes to understanding that most will not understand.
Yes to living in faith and seeing God come through in ways I never thought He would.
Just, yes.
