I don’t know how I’ve gone this far on the race without really introducing you to my World Race family! It’s time to remedy that situation, here they are…





 


 

Team Shefa is lead by the beautiful, soft hearted Amiee Wood. She gracefully handles reporting to squad leaders, arranging travel, coordinating with contacts & so much more so that the rest of our team can focus on ministry. She is sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and keeps our team’s heart in the right place. She loves animals. From a cuddly puppy to a wild boar, she will sweet talk it and try to pet it. She is a born worship leader and has an amazing voice. A few times a day she will double over in laughter about something and we’ll just shake our heads and say “Amiee’s losing it again.� Her current favorite word is Fudgeknuckles.

 


 



 


Up next is Steve Benson, our awesome finance guy. He keeps track of our team’s budget & spending as well as being our resident hippie oil expert. Seriously, from indigestion to a mosquito bite, he’s got an oil for it. He’s also a sports nut. Wherever you are, he’ll figure out what sports the kids in the area are playing and find a way to join in. He’s currently progressing towards a goal of adding a push-up a dayto his workout for the entire Race. Don’t write him off as a meathead though. He’s sweet and sensitive and always pushing deeper in his relationships with God & others. He’s always willing to lend a hand wherever it’s needed too. From carrying you over a river to eating the rest of some foreign food that you just can’t bring yourself to finish. Steve also has excellent taste in wool socks.




 

 


 

Now meet the other awesome guy on our team, Juddson Vance. Juddson is just Juddson. He loves to talk and discuss things on topics ranging from friends back home to cars, God’s amazing grace, and the wisdom of Hot Rod. He wants to be a preacher and you can tell he’ll be a great one by the power and fire in his prayers. He connects quickly with people and finds best friends everywhere. Juddson is hard to keep track of sometimes but don’t worry. If you lose him, he will always pop back up eventually with a new patch, a sweet from the market or a new friend on his arm. It’s always an adventure with Juddson. He loves listening to Jesus Culture and is mildly obsessed with bicycles.

 


 



 


Say hello to Andrea Abslag, my fellow German on the team. Don’t let her quietness fool you, she takes up half the space in my quote book. Andrea & I feed off each other during laughing spells and because of that, she is our number one pick to pee her pants first on the Race. She is a quiet, stable force on our team and I cannot wait to see how God brings her out this year. She hates being carried across rivers but she’ll smile as she begrudgingly gives in to it. She has become our team videographer with her flip and she loves her some Dire Straits. Andrea is also unafraid of jackals and laughs in the face of danger.


 


 


 

And last but not least, here’s Charlotte Anderson! Charlotte is uncensored, unphased & on fire for God. She’s always committed to whatever project we are doing, even if it involves singing Dupke Lagayee for the umpteenth time. She has great insight into people and connects & makes friends very easily. She can run faster than a speeding bullet and shares my affinity for hip hop & dancing. From crazy schoolkids to stoic bus passengers, Charlotte can charm then instantly with her ipod and awesome dance moves. She’s always up for eating the last rhoti and is an expert at squatty pottie bowling.
