At the encouragement of a friend (hi Crystal) I decided to post something even if I don’t have anything particularly important to say. I’m still getting used to the idea that people read this and are subscribed and want know what’s going on, so bear with me.

Having survived moving week and now being located on the family farm, I thought I’d give a little love and appreciation to the country. Don’t get me wrong, I loved a lot of things about living in town (my roomie, freedom, convenience, internet) but there is a large part of my heart that resides in the country. So here you go– my favorite things about living in the country:

1. The air smells sweeter.

2. The sweet tea tastes better. Also you can make garden tea, which is the best tea known to man.

3. The cats live outside. Nuff said.

4. Country roads. As long as they are half decently paved, they are beautiful, curvy, and chock full of fun with the right car.

5. You can listen to the radio or tv as loud as you want. No neighbor will report your late-night Rock Band volume. No one will notice or look strangely at the little white girl rapping Jay-Z or singing Brandi Carlile in her car on the way home from work.

6. You can shoot guns off the back deck. I don’t claim to be a redneck but it sure is fun! 🙂

7. You know everyone. You can’t walk a half mile without greeting someone you know or waving at a friend passing by in a car or 4-wheeler.

8. The night sky. I can’t put the beauty into words. Every time I come home late I can’t help stopping and staring up for a few minutes before reluctantly going inside.

So yeah, I’m adjusting pretty well and am happy to be back. 🙂
Because y’all are such good listeners, I’d also like to put out a couple prayer requests- that the weather this Saturday would be great for the yardsale, that the yardsale would be a success, and that I would be able to get my cars sold before the Race.

Thanks again for taking the time to read this! Hugs!
