Hello World Race! I’m Shea (which rhymes with hey, bay, day in case you weren’t sure how to say it). I’m 24, grew up in a small town in Indiana, and have been living in Bellevue, KY right across the river from Cincinnati, OH for the past 2 and a half years. My story starts way back in the 8th grade when a girl I hardly knew invited me to her youth group. I went, and over the next year in my life learned what it was like to follow Christ while also learning who He truly was since I really had no clue. Some of the hugest experiences that shaped who I am today were working at a summer camp for three summers, my college experience, moving to the Cincinnati area, and a trip to Rwanda, Africa the summer of 2007.

Over the years God has been releasing me to be who I am in Him. I feel like I truly know myself, and feel so free to be that. I used to be worried about seeming strange and was very shy, but God has called me out of that. He wants me to love Him and worship Him in the ways He has created me to. Recently I have been so fascinated by the Holy Spirit. A couple of years ago God started teaching me about the Holy Spirit and that He is real and working today and that He can work through me. I have experienced some totally amazing things since I have become more aware and open to the really weird side of God. The Holy Spirit does some wild things!  I am not sure what God wants me to do for the rest of my life, but I know that He wants me to serve Him and the people of this world with all that I have. I am committed to serving God and others in Christ’s name, and will do what it takes to follow His will and make His glory known.

Here are some facts about me:

I have spent the past two years as an Americorps volunteer working at an urban nature center in Cincinnati doing outdoor education. Basically I teach kids about bugs, trees, and Native Americans.

I have a degree in psychology and art, and I have only used it to teach a homeschool art class once a week.

I love to dance until I lose control of my body, especially if praising the Lord is involved.

I really enjoy the colors seafoam green and purple, stick on tattoos, the banjo (which I am trying to learn how to play), giraffes, seahorses, and riding my bike. I also get really into costume parties.

I put hot sauce on almost everything. I also couldn’t imagine a world without cheese. It is so delicious.

Sometimes I also stick my head out the car window and take pictures (ok, I think I’ve only done that in two different occasions, but it’s really fun!)
