I must say it has been awhile since my last blog. And a lot has
gone on since then.

For starters, I am no longer in Rwanda. After 51 hours of
travel and a 24 hour layover in the Bangkok airport I have successfully made it
to the Philippians where I have been living this past week and will be for 5
more weeks.

Life here in Asia is completely different than life in
Africa! For starters, the next 5 weeks I am working with an amazing
organization called KIM or Kid’s International Ministries (check out their
website www.Kidsim.org) and living in an
amazing massive house called the YungJin Lyso Ministry Center with 3 other
teams.  KIM has a plethora of ministries
to work with from construction projects, to feedings, to working with street
kids, to working at a Children’s Home, to working at a girl’s home, to working
at a boy’s home and more. Basically, these people need to be loved on (which is
a whole nother blog I could write on).

So, for the past week I have been trying to catch up on jet
lag and begin ministry at the same time. This week, I have helped dig out a
massive pile of dirt so houses can be built and helped clean out a food storage
facility so that more food could be moved in. Then, when the new food arrived,
32 Racers, including myself, helped unload an 18 wheeler with over 38,000 lbs
of food. Yes, you read that right! I moved over 38,000 lbs of food in less than
3 hours! (35 pallets with 36 boxes of food on each pallet that weighed 33
lbs/box!)

Starting Monday I will begin my ministry with Josie’s Angels
which is a home started by our contacts daughter. She started doing devotionals
with girls in the community and once getting close to them and meeting their
families and realizing they were in bad situations decided to start a home for
them. I’m excited to see what comes of this over the next 5 weeks.

In addition to a new location, I have a new team, Freedom’s
Lighthouse. I am now on a team with Lilli (team leader), Brian, Billy, Crystal,
Rebecca and Elaina. (blog hopefully to come).
