Hello! I’d tell you my name, but that just seems redundant. 🙂 Anyway, I’m 21 and live in Greeneville, TN. I was originally born in Cali, but sadly, didn’t stay long enough to have any memories. I’m pretty introverted, so I’ll try to make this sound as extroverted as I can. I love the outdoors—hiking, camping, swimming, sport you name it. I also love to read. That’s actually my favorite thing to do. Missionary biographies… the best. I’ve never been into fictional books, but anything that has to do with God and life, I’m there. Reading in a hammock is the way to go. Hmmm… what else. I work at a non-prof coffee shop! In fact, I do all that is coffee there. Order it, roast it, bag it, brew it, sell it. Coffee is a second love. My senior minister dreamed up the little coffee shop, and has been teaching me all things coffee. He’s pretty genius.
Onto more serious stuffs. I’ve always wanted to be a missionary, but lost that dream in the chaos that is this world. I stuck to a calling to ministry, by that I mean I’m at church during any free time I find. My love for missions was reawakened recently by a doctor who started attending my church. He could talk missions all day, and with such a passion for it! I could listen to him talk all day. He’s very wise. He recently went over to Liberia to help with the Ebola outbreak, and is currently (depending upon when you are reading this) in Kenya doing some work. Anyway, he reminded me what missions is all about, and what life it brings to, not only me, but everyone.
I’ve completed one(ish) years of school. That’s a long story for another day. Now, I’m just chasing after God with all I have, and I’m super stoked to have been accepted for this trip. Can’t wait!
