God is so good. Today was a day that I know I’ll never forget. It started early, we got up and left to go to an adventure camp. We thought we were going to go zip lining because it’s Linnea’s birthday. This amazing place has huge swings hanging from way up high in the tree branches, horses, ponies, chickens, a peacock, archery targets setup in different places, a zip line down the long driveway as you drive in, and a rope course like I’ve never seen. It’s so beautiful with well kept gardens, like something you would dream about doing but not really believe it would ever happen. I felt like a little kid with big eyes looking at everything so amazed. Trumpy and his wife Susan have run this place for over 15 years and give God all the glory and praise. They are wonderful people and are living their dream.
Trumpy told us that they have 60 teenagers there this morning that he has to do something with them before we head out to go repelling down a mountain side. I was in prayer at that point giving God my fear of heights, remembering that God is in control of my life so I have nothing to fear. We walked into the barn and Trumpy came in and shared with the group a message about life, destiny, values, and hope for their future. He is an amazing archer so he works an impressive demonstration of his shooting ability into his talk. At the end he asks who wants to give their life to Jesus, so he had everyone close their eyes as he prayed. Then he asked those who gave their life to Jesus for the first time to stand up. I couldn’t believe it; it looked to me like 40 kids stood up. Tears came to my eyes. Then he asked everyone else who had already asked Jesus in their hearts to stand as well. The rest of the room stood up, and he said, “Look, we are all family. Welcome.”
After having breakfast around a fire, under a big tree we headed out to go repel down a mountain. Everyone was so excited and I must admit I’m glad I did it. Amanda made me do it twice and I only felt a little bit of fear at first, but then it went away. I really liked being out in the mountains again; it reminded me of home and the mountains in Tumbler Ridge.

We had lunch back at the farm under another beautiful tree, and then Trumpy said that he would take us up to see a cave on top of another mountain. As we were getting to the top of the mountain there was a truck, Trumpy said, “That’s weird. I’ve never seen anyone up here before.” He said again that it was really weird as we were passing by the truck. Trumpy thought the man inside was sleeping but then we saw the hose coming in his back window. The man inside looked up at us and put his head back down. We all realized what was going on and I said, “He’s still alive, move quickly.” Trumpy jumped out, opened the door, turned off the truck and took his keys. Scott pulled the hose out and I asked if he was ok. Trumpy said that he was ok and started to talk to him in Afrikans. We all started to pray, then Trumpy sent us away to a big rock overlook so that he could talk with him for a bit.

We went and prayed and praised God that we found this man alive. Trumpy called us back after a while and we all prayed with the man, we spoke life, destiny, purpose and hope into him. We broke the chains of depression and proclaimed a blessed future over him free from fear. We told him that God loves him and that God has a plan and a purpose for his life. Scott asked him if he had someone praying for him because we were there at just the right time. He said, “My wife prays for me.” Before he left he thanked us and told us that we saved his life.
I know God answers prayers. It’s been true in my life and today it was true for this man and his wife. Please pray for him if you ever think to, we believe God has big plans for his life.
