Today is the day…the official start of our mission trip! Training camp ended yesterday and this morning our team of 5 ladies (we call ourselves Jehovah’s Pride) split off from the rest of the squad to find a ministry to work with and a place to stay for the next 7 days. Our squad of 20, called Fusion3, has a VERY unique mission in that for the remainder of the year we will be operating without contacts or hosts in each country. We are the FIRST squad to be doing this, which means that we are solely relying on God to provide the right people for us to serve and places for us to stay. We are taking a HUGE leap of faith to trust that He will send us where He wants us to go and to whom He wants us to meet; it is out of our control…but I am SO excited to see what He will do! It was sad to say goodbye to the rest of the squad; we’ve been living life together for the past two weeks and I’ve loved every minute of it. But I cannot wait to be out with my team, experiencing this country the way God wants us to, and come back together with them all at the end of the month to share what we have done and hear all the stories they will have to tell. We’ve had an interesting last few days; today is the second day of rain during Uganda’s dry season (which makes for some interesting tent camping!), but I keep remembering that after the rain comes a rainbow, and I truly believe that God has some beautiful things in store for us as we begin this epic journey of trusting the Lord with ALL our hearts. He’s been faithful to provide thus far, and I know that…”He who began a good work in (us) will carry it on to completion.” Philippians 1:6
Please keep us in your prayers. The road we will be walking is narrow and long and dusty and hard, but I know that your love and support and prayers will carry us through it all. Much love and thanks!
