Friends and family, I have a 2017 challenge for you! We all know that New Year’s resolutions rarely ever last longer than a week or two, and honestly…I can’t say that I’ve really ever made one that I actually followed through on…so I understand how silly and somewhat pointless they can be…….BUT, just trust me when I say THIS challenge is different!
I want to ask you, to “challenge” you, to pray EVERY DAY over this next year, whether it’s for 2 minutes or 5 minutes or 30 minutes, for myself, my team, and the people who we will meet and serve while on this 2017 World Race mission trip. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I know that God hears our requests and is so faithful in answering by providing His strength, healing, peace, and most importantly love to those who call upon His name. My team and I will have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus and the hope of the gospel with countless people, and my prayer is that seeds will be planted and lives will be transformed through our actions and service in each and every place that we go. I am asking for your prayers because in return, I am committing to pray for YOU. I have decided that during this trip, I will not focus on the needs, discomforts, uncertainties, or fears that I will undoubtedly experience over these next 11 months, but rather focus on and pray for the needs of my friends and family, knowing and trusting that all of your prayers and support will abundantly cover and protect me and my team.
I cannot explain my excitement and anticipation for this trip, knowing that it will be life-changing in so many ways. It is quickly approaching, just two weeks away, and I am bursting with so many emotions!! I want to acknowledge each one of you because I know that it will not and cannot happen without your continued giving, praying, and support. I am SO THANKFUL and blessed by the outpouring of love and generosity that I have already received while preparing for this trip, and I trust that it will continue (if not multiply) after I embark on this journey. SO, the challenge has been given: Will you please pray? And in return, I would LOVE to know what I can specifically be praying about for you!! Lastly, while most of you have already made a financial contribution, I wanted to let you know that I am still fundraising! I am only half way to my goal…I still have $7000 to raise.
