Our Savior cares for all of His children like a father, especially the forgotten and most vulnerable. I mentioned previously that we are here in Manila this month working with Kids International Ministries run by Jeff Long. Their reach into this squatter community has been so special and God-filled, including the New Faith Family Children’s Home run by K.I.M. The week before we arrived here, the Children’s Home received 4 new children in 2 days (not a usual occurrence)- 3 siblings and one lone baby.
Our first week here in the Philippines, two volunteers were requested to go stay at the hospital with one of the newest additions to the orphanage. It is required in hospitals here that someone is always with every patient, 24-7, while they are there. Joy and I agreed to do the first shift and soon we were on our way to the hospital for a 12 hour shift, 8 PM to 8 AM-yes, overnight.
