So in thinking that we are past the halfway point of the race, I decided to make a small list of things that we have missed or find hilarious.

-Shower is a relative term that can describe anything from its true form to baby wipes.  All are met with some form of enthusiasm however.
-The world is our dryer.
-Washers are glorious when seen.  I, however, have yet to see a dishwasher on the race.
-Thankfully, the world does believe in coffee!!!
-Most of the world’s outlets produce twice as much wattage.  Seeing sparks when we plug something in is not unusual but our computers charge twice as fast.
-Animals have free reign in the world, including monkeys, cows, goats, roosters, dogs, and cats.
-Not everywhere has traffic rules.
-We use the don’t ask, don’t tell rule with food.
-The world LOVES rice.  Needless to say, I never want to eat it again minus Chipotle and “American” Chinese food.
-Home is also a relative term that we use for whatever place or floor we are sleeping on that night.
-Traveling for less than 3 days is a piece of cake.
-Smelling good is rare but so worth it, if you’re willing to tempt the mosquitos.
-We can master pretty much any airport or form of transportation.
-Alone time? What is that?
-We never have less than 5 roommates at a time.  Sometimes it’s up to over 50.
-I haven’t seen a Wal-Mart or used a cell phone for 6 months.
-If you go a whole day without things getting lost in translation, it’s a miracle.
-Carrying our packs is such a dread, but I am convinced that we have killer shoulder muscles.
-Having internet is like Christmas every day when we do have it.
-We miss American food so much that we strategically plan out our mad dashes to restaurants in the airport…two months in advance.
-New currency? New culture? No problem.
-Most countries teach more than one language to their children.  Those in Africa were super confused when we say our mother tongue is English and that’s all we know.
-Money in other countries is SO much cooler than dollars.  Theirs are colorful.  Even when you show them the dollar, they go that’s it?
-I have never appreciated American coffee shops more.  They have coffee AND internet.
-Most of the time we are either sweating or freezing.  In between is a miracle.
-Our bodies can adapt to switching from climate to climate, going from 90s to 20s or less.
-We wake up every day across the world and sometimes forget that we are that far away.
-Any fear of planes was eliminated from the first 17-hour flight.

It's all downhill from here!!! (The good kind of downhill, like a roller coaster.) T-minus 5 months.
