God has spiritually rocked my world.
I’m not talking with special stories of children.
Jesus has taken everything I knew to be true and turned it upside down.
He is forcing me to reconsider my view of not only the world but of myself.
I thought myself to be radically in love with Jesus, but I have to fall in love with Jesus so much more. I haven’t even begun to open to secrets of heaven.
I thought myself to be great with relationships, but I have so much to learn from others. I am beyond flawed.
I thought myself to be confident in who I am, but I must relearn the meaning of confidence. Jesus must be the only thing I see when I look in the mirror.
God has revealed lies that I believe—lies from the pit of hell. The lord of lies himself has had a grip on my mind for too long. I declare that in Jesus name these false accusations be gone.
Deceptions from the Past
1. Independence is a good thing.
2. I don’t need anyone to be strong for me.
3. Getting my heart broken repeatedly didn’t hurt.
4. I can handle lots of stress without it affecting me badly.
5. I have to have all of the answers.
6. If I’m not strong, nobody else will be.
7. I do not need others to help me.
8. I am not worthy.
9. I do not have great spiritual gifts.
10. I will not find love because I can handle myself on my own.
11. I am not prideful.
12. God might ignore my cries.
13. Some sin doesn’t matter in my life.
14. I should not let others protect me or my heart.
15. I need to be the fixer and protector.
16. God might not provide for me.
17. I need to do everything on my own.
18. I don’t deserve a man of God.
19. I have to compromise to allow others happiness.
20. Nobody will date me in the future.
These are insane lies that no longer have a hold on me. Instead, here is how Jesus sees me.
Truths
1. I need to learn dependence on God and on His Church.
2. God created me to depend on others and let them be strong for me.
3. Getting hurt always causes pain.
4. Stress does affect me.
5. I know better than anyone that I do not have all of the answers.
6. If I am strong for everyone else, I cannot let God be strong for me or them.
7. God created me to need others.
8. Jesus sees me as absolutely 100% worthy.
9. God gives spiritual gifts abundantly.
10. Just because I am independent doesn’t mean that I will automatically be alone for life; that would be the easy way out.
11. I am extremely prideful, and God is humbling me.
12. God may say no, but He never ignores the cries of His beloved children.
13. All sin is a problem and God has to tear it down.
14. God has put people in my life to protect me, but above all, God will always protect me.
15. God is my Fixer and my Protector.
16. God always provides for His children.
17. Doing everything on my own hurts the community in Christ; I need help. We were not created to be alone. Even Adam had Eve.
18. All of the King’s daughters deserve princes.
19. Compromising my happiness hurts others and does not help them.
20. A worthy man will date me.
Remember that Jesus looks at you with compassion and love. He is the only One that will replace your flawed beliefs with the truth. When you buy into these lies, fight them with His Word. He healed me and can do the same for you.
