I thought I would never fall in love.
I was wrong.
I have fallen in love with the beautiful hearts of African children.
I knew everything was worth it when I heard them sing these words:

I have decided to follow Jesus.  I have decided to follow Jesus.
I have decided to follow Jesus.  No turning back.  No turning back.

Between the excited hugs and kisses, I can honestly say that I had my heart stolen.  I was swept away by their unconditional love.  These children have an innate ability to love strangers.   Then it hit me:  Jesus wants us to learn from children because they can see the world differently.  They can love somebody without being distracted by their story, their heart, or their appearance.  I love that Jesus says

“truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
                                                                                Matthew 18:3-4

Jesus revealed more to me through a little girl named Indra.  She would call my name when she needed me without thinking twice.  Not only that but the moment she grabbed my hands, she completely trusted me.  She became more adventurous and would take greater chances in climbing, jumping, or running.  Indra knew that the moment she began to fall, I would catch her.

See, God spoke to me in the moment to say that I need to trust Him like a child trusts.  God will be there the second I call His Name.  With Him watching over me, I can take more chances.  Just as I caught Indra, God will be there to catch me when I fall.

So the next time you face a situation, ask God to bless you with the eyes of a child, for that is where you will find the Kingdom of our Great God.
