I tried to think of some deep answer or creative delivery, but then I realized that’s not really my style, so I should just do what I would normally do…right? Well, here goes:
1. I’m from a small (and some would say semi-rural) town called Montz, Louisiana where my family still lives. I have only one sister, but 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and lots of cousins and other family. In high school I researched part of my family tree because history, and my ancestry in particular, interest me and I feel like we miss out on so many opportunities to learn about our family and where we come from. Get the knowledge now before it’s too late!
2. I’m in my second year of Teach for America. I teach 2nd graders who have become my life for the past 2 years. I’ve realized that teaching is not my calling, but I’ve learned a lot about myself, met some AMAZING kids, and have solidified this belief: Children. Are. Hilarious!
3. I am an organizer. I like making lists (hence the format of this post) and am oddly excited by stacks of papers or clutter. Where others see chaos, I see a challenge. If you catch me on a good day and you’ll allow me too, I might even clean your room if it’s messy. 🙂
4. I love my family and friends and am SO BLESSED to have such amazing people in my life. My favorite things to do are really life’s simple pleasures: talk to my friends, go out to eat or to the movies, listen to Gospel, read, visit new places, and travel to visit friends and family.
5. On the flip side though, I like to say that I’m a social introvert. While I enjoy seeing and being around those I care about, I am also a homebody who likes to spend time alone pondering the world or even sleeping (because sleeping is awesome!). I definitely expect to be challenged on the Race to step out of this comfort zone and develop deep community. It's one of the things I look forward to!
6. I don’t want to make too many points so here’s a 6 for 1 special: I’m loyal and committed to the things I start. I like to believe the best about people. I’m happy when other people are happy. I’m considered a planner so I take it upon myself to plan celebrations for others. I’m a night person yet I don’t like coffee. I sometimes like to cook.
7. God has been SO amazing to me and I am So blessed. I cannot describe all the ways that He has touched my life or has changed me for the better, and the best part is that He is nowhere near finished! I’m excited for what He has planned next and how He wants to grow me, but I’m most excited for how He wants to use me. As I leave one season of life and enter another, I’m ready to see more of what God has planned for the rest of my life. I’m ready for more of Him.
Please join me on my journey and I pray that you will be blessed by something that you read or see here. Contact me anytime for anything!
