Home, sweet home!

After exploring Los Angeles with Elissa Holland just a few hours after coming home, I came to the conclusion that nowhere else in the world will you find more of the weird and the wacky than right here in the United States of America.  Despite the unparalleled opulence, the outrageous amount of pet paraphernalia available for purchase, and the hectic daily schedule, America truly is home and it is good to be back.

I cannot say that re-entry has been easy and I would not say it has been smooth.

It’s been a little over two weeks and it still seems a little surreal to be back in the United States with hot showers, my mom’s homemade food, delicious Christmas cookies, and so much more.  I am thankful for the amenities I find at home, but at the same time, I miss the simplicity of life on the field.

As I run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to cross items off of an interminably long to-do list, I am beset with questions about what I’ve done, what I’ve learned, and what I’m going to do next.  Thankfully, I have answers to these questions.  Maybe not the best answers or the most complete answers but I do have answers.

So, what’s next?

I’m so glad you asked! In February, I will be leading a group of young people, 18-22 year olds, on a trip to Africa.  We will going to Malawi, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe!  We will be partnering with local ministries for three months.  Going back to Africa is not exactly what I was expecting, however, I am excited to see what God has in store for our group!

Thank you all for keeping up with how God has been working in my life over the past year.  I look forward to continuing to share stories with you.  Thank you for all your prayers and support as I embark on a new journey.  God has been very good and has provided all of the funds that I need for this next endeavor.  Thank you so much for your generosity.

Merry Christmas!
