Although my blog is still talking about El Salvador…..I am in fact in Xenacoj, Guatemala.
So what am I doing in Guatemala?
Feeding orphans and widows. Touching the untouched.
There is a distinct hierarchy of value within the culture of Guatemala – Guatemalans, then Mayans, then women, then widows.
The ministry we are working with this month, focuses on helping widows and orphans in the Mayan community. We visit their homes, pray for them, sing with them, listen to them, eat with them, and wash their feet. At times like these, I can truly see why God calls his people to “visit orphans and widows in their time of trouble.”
There is so much that I want to blog about, but so little time and so little wifi. Stay tuned!
