Sometimes, there are people with whom you just have a connection. There’s no real reason for it, it just is.
Carlos and I bonded a few days after we moved houses – from Juan Carlos’ house with Team GPS to Pastor Oscar’s house. We were both awake early one morning and we talked for quite awhile about life, loving people, understanding people, and a lot more.

Carlos graciously cooked for us the final week in El Salvador, We bonded over a mutual love for food and soccer. Carlos taught me how to cook. But cooking isn’t the only thing he taught me. Carlos confronted me in those times when I needed to adjust my attitude. He encouraged me to remember that I serve the Lord. I only need to be concerned with following the Lord, and the rest will fall into place.
Everything Carlos said, pointed me back to Jesus. It’s all about Jesus. He has an incredible passion to preach the Word. One afternoon, my team split up and visited house churches in and around San Vicente, El Salvador. Carlos and I teamed up to lead one of the groups. Through our prep work I discovered Carlos’ passion for preaching the word. As I listened to Carlos lead the house church, I saw his eyes light up. Preaching, clearly is what he was made to do. I cannot wait to see how God is going to use him.
