Background
- 22 years old
- I was lucky enough to grow up in beautiful Lake Tahoe, Nevada
- I am the middle child of 3 girls- my younger sister is 19 and my older sister is 33 and already has a family of her own with 2 kids (my 4yr old nephew and 12 yr old niece). I am very close with my family.
- I just graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Sciences.
- While in college I was involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as a bible study leader- this has had an incredible impact on my faith and relationship with God and it has helped me to see the importance of giving the gift of the gospel to others no matter where you are.
- I am interested in working in the field of global health prevention/promotion
- I was able to go to Manila Philippines in the summer of 2012 where I lived at a church for about 6 weeks and partnered with a program called Onesimo. I saw more of Jesus’ love and joy from the people living there than ever before.
- I decided to make a commitment to missions at a conference called Urbana. And God has made it clear that the World Race is my next step and I couldn’t be more excited!

- Movies: Princess Bride, Jurassic Park, Despicable Me (1 & 2), Finding Nemo, Bella, Count of Monte Cristo, 27 Dresses

- Animal: lately it has been jellyfish
- Color: indigo
- Food: any king of fruit
- Dessert: berry pie a la mode
- Candy: zours (sour mike &ikes)
- My favorite flower and scent is the rose (and it’s my middle name!)
Hobbies
- I did track & field middle school through high school and into college. I did both hurdles, some middle distance and my best event was the high jump (I miss it so much!)
- I enjoy staying active with most all sports, especially: tennis, running, swimming, weight lifting etc.
- I love hiking, camping and going on adventures
- I love playing Just Dance and Karaoke Revolution (ahh good times!)
- Dressing up in funny costumes and making movies. I also have had the most fun simply using a tape recorder and making talk shows with commercials and all.
- I like games, especially those that involve personal choices and interactions.
- I love working with children- my favorite job was as a swim instructor where I taught young children how to swim and got to come up with silly creative games to do with them in the water (so much fun!)
- I enjoy painting and drawing
- I like baking and attempting to cook
- I love learning about other cultures
- I’m very interested in how the body works and nutrition
Interesting Facts about Me
- I tend to be somewhat shy and quiet when you first meet me but once you get to know me you will see that I can be crazy and ridiculous
- I am a dreamer and an idealist
- I space out a lot because I am constantly thinking or daydreaming (so don’t worry if you catch me doing this)
- I am deathly allergic to all nuts
- I say “oh dear” a lot
- What I used to want to be: a dolphin trainer, marine biologist, social worker, nurse and missionary
- I smile a lot and I love laughing until it hurts
- I tend to be very passionate about certain subjects/topics and what I am doing, especially when it comes to my faith
- First became interested in missions in the 6th grade when a missionary came and spoke at my church about how his program helped to build a well in a village in Africa that changed their infant mortality rate from 95% to 3%.
- I make a lot of interesting facial expressions
- Supposedly I make sound effects for everything
- A place I would like to visit just for fun: Iceland
- Things I don’t like: politics, waste, that I care way too much about what others think of me
My desire is to live for Jesus. I want to live simply in a way that I am free from distractions and may rely fully on God (opposite from the American dream). I want to be a humble servant to others, sharing the gospel through my words and actions wherever I am or may go in a way that God gets all the glory. It is an extremely difficult path and I know I am consistently going to fail and mess up as is normal for me yet I keep learning and God has so much grace. He is worth my everything.
