I am in Kigali, Rwanda.  It is a fantastic nation and the history is so rich.  We live in a guest type home of our Pastor Innocent and his wife Vena, who is also a pastor.  They have three boys and their stories are encouraging to me.  They lived through the genocide as refugees in Uganda and they went from street children to successful pastors.  What an incredible ministry to be a part of.
We have only been here a few days, but I have fallen in love with the children of Rwanda. I get such joy teaching English and Math to nine and ten year old boys and girls.  I get to work alongside Emma, who has dedicated his last year to teaching at the Christian school here.  Their faces light up when they see my team and I in the morning and when we get to play with them during break times!
Another part of our ministry is preaching in the local churches.  Sometimes we know when it is our turn and other times we are called upon to share what the Holy Spirit is teaching us.  As much as that seems difficult, I’m excited for the challenge and hope God uses me through it in amazing ways.  I don’t always have the answers and I am not convinced women preaching is the best thing for a local church, but this is where the Lord has me, so I’m embracing it and will learn to teach the word by knowing it better!
Rwanda has treated me well so far.  I am excited for the next 3 weeks!
