As I write this blog (4/16), we are on our way to Mijas, Spain to continue training for the eleven months to come.

These past two weeks have been a whirlwind. After landing in New York, we travelled for 15 hours by air, 1 hour by train, and thirty minutes by foot. Then we jumped into leadership training and sightseeing for a few days in Barcelona. We learned self leadership and how important it is to begin and end our day well. We also talked about how there is no such thing as being stagnant in your life; no matter what you are building something. Failing to build your own dream results in you building someone else’s. We saw some of Gaudi’s most famous works throughout the city, and snuck in some pre-Camino training in the process.

After five days in Barcelona, we hopped on a train to where we would begin our Camino trek. I have never been in so much pain but had so much peace. Our longest day was 25 miles; up and down hills, through mud and rocks, past highways, mountains, fields of flowers, and through villages where nearly everyone knew that 30 Americans were coming. Some days we would do the first couple miles in silence so that we wouldn’t miss what Jesus had for us. Most days, hours, minutes, & seconds were spent hearing each other’s stories and testimonies, just settling into community and growing together. It never mattered who we walked with or if we talked at all; we’ve begun to find attributes of our Father in each other, and they pull us closer.
We as H squad are listening and encouraging, dreaming and praying, loving and serving each other in every moment. Praises to our sweet Father who has brought us together for his calling.
