I don’t want to travel unless Jesus is at the center.
If my life is only about helping people in my own capacity, it is wasted. The only reason this journey makes sense and is worthwhile is because Jesus will be proclaimed to those whom have never heard.

He is truth; he loves with a fury none can match or comprehend; he desires life for his children. I believe this with my whole heart, and I long for others to hear and know the same.

I guess what I’m saying is that this trip is not going to be a vacation. My squad is going to face suffering; both in ourselves and in the lives of those we meet. We will face resistance, both spiritual and physical. Each day has to be an act of faith, our hearts resting fully in obedience to God.

But there is life here. There is peace, joy. There is a stretching of faith, building of endurance, and a strengthening of love.

I’m not asking for support so that I can take a break from life; I’m asking for support as Jesus leads me into the life he has for me.  I’m asking for support as a vessel of Jesus so that his name may be known and his love may be felt.

It is because of him that I may love, because of him that I may have compassion,
because of him that I may be bold.

These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
