Mini Blog 2

After four days of travel we‘ve all arrived safely in Palenque and have begun settling down. We‘re staying at the Shekinah Bible School on the outskirts of town. The view here is beautiful. After the barren deserts of Arizona the lush green scenery of Mexico‘s tropical countryside is very refreshing, although the accompanying humidity will take some getting used to.

Our first week will be training (getting us prepares spiritually and mentally for what‘s to come through teaching, times of worship, and practical seminars), followed by two weeks of ministry here in Palenque. Karen and Seth Barnes, our squad coaches, and Jimmy and Ashley, two former world racers, are here to help us begin our journey. I‘m excited for what awaits us this week as we‘re introduced into the world race lifestyle and the weeks to follow as we come into our own as the July 2008 squad.

Please keep us all in your prayers as we dive head first into this amazing adventure. Pray for our protection and safety as we travel around town. Pray that we would quickly be able to surrender ourselves to the Lord and realize that this trip is about Him, about spreading His love to those in need and allowing Him to move in each of us, stretching us and molding us into His creation.
