Don’t be confused by the name we do not turn from man to ware wolf in seconds, yet our team is still named Jacob. Also not to be confused with our fearless leader named Jacob. Confession our team name was a joke we all agreed on but God new we would and His plan for the chosen name of our team had just the right flavor to describe us! Hosea 12:3-6″Even in the womb,Jacob struggled with his brother; when he became a man, he even fought with God. Yes he wrestled with the angel and won. He wept and pleaded for a blessing from him.There at Bethel he met God face to face, and God of Heaven’s Armies, The Lord is his name! So now, come back to your God. Act with love and justice, and always depend on him.”
This describes our team perfectly having four women (Kate, Sara, Jordan & I) coming from all girls teams to having two brothers (Jake & Ross) we have done some wrestling with God. Just kidding. Our team is really awesome we have a desire to wrestle with God in a good way. We want to go deep having our faith challenged creating growth and intimacy with The Lord. So without further a due meet my incredible new family:
Kate- Also known as cat women. Truth, she was a tiger even on Christmas she looked like one. She got to meet some of her feline cousins in Thailand. But most importantly she is a Jesus Jew one who exudes the new covenant with every inch of her life. She’s beautiful I have never met anyone who defies the law by the love Jesus the way she does.
Sara- Hilarious! Big smile and full of laughs all the time. But be careful putting shoes around her. She’s a bit destructive. They simple just don’t get along. She is also a selfless servant with compassion that could change a whole environment with just her presence. She loves so well!
Jordan- She’s a sly jokester. Her quiet demeanor adds to her very witty charm. Great example aka her jesus isms :”The before thou except after thy”.The wisdom she carries makes the Word come to life. It truly is a gift she has a way of making Jesus very tangible.
Jake- AKA our leader. Our well known Santa, in Cambodia. With aspirations to become a mall Santa one day. He carries a joy that can change any bad day! He’s a delight to follow under.With a quick sing of purple moose anyone would start laughing or break out with a smile.
Ross- He is know as the logistics man but on our team he is just a brother. His care free spirit can make any travel day an ease or challenge you to be more flexible. But he is really a great listener an asset to our team for sure. He loves to talk too but he always has great things to say!
This is the awesome family I’m blessed with for the next six months. I’m so glad to walk, grow, and be challenged by these beautiful disciples of Jesus. God really has specifically placed us on this team together to develop more of his character and see his glory come. 😉
