Disciplining. Me?
Have you ever stepped out in faith and watched God not only equip you but move mightily and far exceed your expectations? This is what this month had in store. We began the month asking for more of God. Lord teach us how to dive into a community. How do we go deeper than the gospel? We know we are supposed to lead by example but how do we teach walking out your word, in essence walking out our faith.
Then God setup a divine appointment with a young lady named Anna. From there we watched God move. God had already been giving her a yearning for truth and a desire to grow in knowledge of his word. At the same time he was challenging us to walk out our faith by making disciples of all nations. So we got up every morning at six and did bible study with Anna & her family. Having never been structurally discipled myself I wasn’t sure how this was gonna work. Every day he directed, lead our conversation, and gave great opportunities for growth. He offered a real tangible insight to who he is in us, through us and for us.
It’s by far one of the most beautiful things I have seen yet. The more we were obedient in going the more God empowered. We saw Anna blossom in The Lord. We watched he repent giving her whole heart back to The Lord. We also had the opportunity to watch her humble herself and give her gift back over to The Lord too. Like a flower in bloom we watched her pray, share the gospel and walk someone through some inner healing/deliverance. She wept with those who wept and rejoice with those whose cups overfloweth. She displayed a heart that had compassion for the things The Lord had compassion for and would go to any length to see his kingdom come. The true reward of discipleship is that many are changed and effected by this living Jesus, even me. It’s like watching a new born baby being born and marveling at the beautiful creation God has made. I can’t help but look back and marvel over how beautiful it was to watch someone mature in The Lord and awe over ever inch he lead. What an amazing thing he allowed me to not only watch but let me be apart to allow growth in me too. Thanks lord for this glorious blessing!
