Fathering Sonship
How can you be a good Father unless you are first a Son? When we were in Honduras our ministry site was a living discipleship. We watched a man named Toni and his wife Nidia house a multitude of young boys to teach them how to walk like Jesus. This cultivated my perspective of discipleship bc walking like Jesus means to LOVE. To love without restraint, expecting nothing in return and loving someone where there at. You see, these boys were not just living on the streets; they consumed and lived to do paint thinner. To them life didn’t have meaning and purpose. They had no meaning and purpose.
This family has an open house policy. And they refuse to put up a gate to there yard bc putting up a gate makes it less appeal to walk right in. Every one is welcome! There ministry started by feeding a boy who was hungry then it grew into a ministry. One day that boy decided he wanted to bring a friend. Then a friend turned into a slue of hungry young boys. Then one day that boy asked to go to Toni’s house and when it was time to go back he didn’t want to go because he was cared for. His needs were being met. Toni asked his wife and well every time he takes a boy home they end up staying at what is now called Zion’s Gate. A place where a Father teaches boys how to claim their sonship in Jesus. To make known their worthy of a purpose and worthy of love. So they can therefore go fourth and bring Jesus to others. True discipleship is where love and life is done together. Jesus is the essence of love and the word says that without love anything we do is just a clashing cymbal.
Here are some ways that Zion’s Gate displayed- A City Of God
-
You welcome everyone. Me Casa Tu Casa.
-
You love people where there at, not trying to fix them. We are not the Savior.
-
Your life is discipleship. The good, bad, and the ugly. Asking forgiveness when needed being transparent and showing our need for daily sanctification in Jesus.
-
That the most important moment is the one right in front of you! Don’t pass up an opportunity to love.
-
Pull out the good in people (Gods’ character is in every one of his children) We are predestined children look at then as a son of God; a prince of the most high king.
-
Take time to channel and call out Gods’ character in someone it may mean they start walking in God’s will and their purpose in life.
-
God works everything to the good of those who love him! Romans 8:28
