As my time in Peru comes to an end in less than a week. I just want to share with you why I’m finding it so hard to leave.

This is the five year old class I was supposed to assist in teaching this month. This photo was the first day of school and the last day of school. I remember how excited I was to be a part of their lives if only for a moment. It was so hot that day that I went around fanning each one of them as you can see in the photo. I had some divas who wanted me to fan them only and who laughed when I attempted to draw Ariel the princess for them to color.

I told my team how I was ready for school the next day and how my Ariel would be better. I was excited to be their teacher this month and to see them grow and learn about God. Then the flood waters came and caused so much damage that school has not yet reopened.

My squad leader Cam told me before coming to Peru to be interruptible. I had no idea God would interrupt my time with these precious kids. I’m glad that he made this day the best day and made me full.

I know what it means to Count It All J O Y.
