The Race is well and truly over. So it should come as no surprise that I’ve been getting one question fairly consistently since I’ve been home.

What am I doing next?

Luckily, I actually have the answer to that question.

This September I will be moving to Gainesville, Georgia to start a 4 month internship with Adventures in Missions. The program is called the Center for Global Action.

I will be participating in the Field Leadership track, where I will learn and foster leadership skills as it relates to doing missions of all types. I felt very strongly on the Race that my mission work is not yet done and that I needed to be trained for whatever God has next for me. If you read some of previous blogs, you know that I feel that I have some part to play with the American church at large. In order to do that I felt that God was leading me to this program to learn more and be prepared for His next steps in my life.

This program combines community, discipleship, and apprenticeship to have a full learning experience. I will spend time working in the World Race office, doing classes, and being discipled by mentors who have been where I am now.

I am incredibly excited to start this next season of my life! I feel complete and total peace about CGA, so I know this is where God wants me next.

Much like the last one, I need to support raise for this new adventure. I was blown away by the prayer and financial support that I received while I was traveling around the world. It was truly a testament to the generosity and love people have. Like I’ve said many times, I could not have done it without you. I may have done the traveling, but you’re the ones who got me there.

For CGA I must raise $3,950. I need to have half of this ($1,975) by September 12th and the other half ($1,975) by November 1st. I am again asking if you would be willing to partner with me for this next season. In either prayer or finance. Having taken such good care of me this past year, I know I’m coming to the right people.

Perhaps you don’t have the means right now to support me financially, that’s ok! Please be in prayer for me as I head to Georgia. I will need all I can get to focus on what God has for me as well as raise the support necessary to follow His will for me. Also, if you know anyone who may be interested in supporting me please send them my way! I’d love to talk to them!

If you are in a place where you feel you can support me financially, there are several ways you can do it:

·      Send a check by mail to PO BOX 742570 Atlanta, GA 30374-2570. Be sure your donors write the check to Adventures in Missions and put SETHPOWELL in the memo line.

·      Give online donations through credit: adventures.org/give, go to the “Mission Trip Participant” link and choose the Center for Global Action (CGA) program.

·      Give monthly donations through their bank account: adventures.org/dynapay.

·      Or, simply give through my World Race blog on the left side of the page that says “Support Me!”

If you’re unsure where you are with this, take some time to pray about it! God will surely guide your steps the way He is guiding mine.

If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to get in touch with me! Just click the "Contact" tab on the left side of the screen and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Thank you so much for sending me across the planet on the journey of a lifetime, and for taking the time to read about the new path I’m going to be walking on.

Two more things and then you’re free.

First, I have uploaded all my pictures to Flickr! If you’re interested in seeing some snippets of all the countries I’ve been to click the link and browse to you’re hearts content! https://www.flickr.com/photos/125901041@N06/

Second, I have had many people tell me that I should keep blogging based on my words on my World Race blog. My first thought is that I am incredibly thankful that my words meant something to all my readers! It was great fun chronicling my journey, and I’m glad you had some fun with it as well!

Having said this, I’ve launched a brand new blog site so that I may keep writing about my new season. It’s called “Running With the River.” Click the link to go to it and then subscribe so you can see what God is continuing to do in me. http://runningwiththeriver.blogspot.com/

Thank you so, so, so much for reading! This is my final post on this blog, so now the curtain may truly fall on my World Race season.

I hope you’ll decide to be a part of the next one, too. No matter how that looks.
