Being A Son

I think many times we question why we do what we do. Some actions and aspects of ourselves can be explained through our environment. Some can be explained through our personalities and some can be harder to explain than others. What I’m learning more and more is what we do is influenced by what we see as our identity. How we see ourselves and how we see ourselves in relation to others influences little nuances of our behavior and our reality. Speaking for myself, my life up to this point has been an unveiling and a quest to find my identity.

This quest for meaning and truth ended roughly two years ago when I met Jesus. It was His love that infiltrated the far reaches of my heart and consumed my mind. I can honestly say that I have not been the same since. With a heart full of joy I can now say unapologetically, I am son God. With this quest for meaning and identity ended, it is now time to discover what it means to be a son of God and for that to be the filter for which I operate.

For two years now I have been learning what it means to walk as a son of the Father. One of the fist aspects I learned is that I am the very breath of who Papa is. In Genesis, the Hebrew word for breathed and spirit are the same. So when God ‘breathed’ life into Adam, He spirited the very fabric of himself into ‘Adam’ so therefore we were made in His image. So in retrospect in of ourselves, we have the same potential to create, to nurture and to love as He does. Since God is love and we are breathed from love so therefore we are the love of God manifest.

Realizing this blew my heart away because I am no longer defined as just a man, Seth Hutchins or even a sinner. Those things are not part of the bigger picture of my identity. My focus is my reality and if my focus is Jesus then He is my reality. I’m learning more and more what it means to come from a place of intimacy in Jesus and what it means to become love like He does.

The World Race is amazing and my heart is beyond excited to go but I feel this blog will mostly focus on this process of learning from my relationship in Papa. Whatever happens in the World Race will be a result of further intimacy with Him.

He loves you more than words can say and the only way He could show it was through the death of His Son.

Thank you for reading and your continual support. 🙂
