Let’s Extol Our God and King,
rather we should praise the God who will be with us every step of the
way. I encourage all of y’all to spend an hour this week where you
extol the Lord by thanking Him, praising His name, singing worship
songs, and praying the psalms. For if we ever want to have effective
ministry, we must first cultivate intimacy. If we ever want to live out
the 2nd Commandment, we must first chase after the 1st Commandment. We
have been called forth not merely as workers of justice and laborers of
service, but we have been predestined to be ministers of worship and
lovers of Jesus. So let us worship the God who was and is and is to
come, the One who is worthy of all our praise, for He is gracious, slow
to anger, rich in love, and good to all.
“I
will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great
is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is
unsearchable… The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and
abounding in steadfast love. The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is
over all that he has made. All your works shall give thanks to you, O
LORD, and all your saints shall bless you!”
