Hey everyone,
Quick update, I’m here in Cambodia sweating my butt off (high 90’s and 100% humidity everyday) but having a great time despite the heat. Me and team boundless are working for Eli School which is an international school with about 50 students who are mostly children of missionaries in the area. During the day we help out in the class rooms teaching the children. Our contacts also have 2 villages where they teach English and tell Bible stories, and a drug rehab center where they are able to share Jesus with the boys that are there. We visit the villages 3 times a week and the drug rehab 2 times a week. So we are staying very busy here in Siem Reap Cambodia.
God has been doing some awesome things in me and through me this month and I wanna tell you about 2 experiences that really show this:
First how He worked in me. In Thailand I took it upon myself to really start investing in listening prayer. Spending quite time with God everyday listening to what He has to tell me. By the end of the month I had gotten slightly discouraged because aside from a few things I didn’t hear God telling me the things I was looking for. One of thing things I was hoping for during listening prayer was to experience the Holy Spirit in a new way like I never have before.
But God is good! Shortly after we arrived here I was sitting in the morning devotion with all the kids listening to one of the teachers give a lesson on faith. Out of nowhere the Holy Spirit hit me like a ton of bricks, I could clearly feel His presence all over me. And I got the image of me standing in front of Jesus in heaven and Him looking at me and saying, “Well done my good and faithful servant”. This moment was so powerful for me that I almost had trouble not showing my emotions in front of all the kids. All day I kept thinking about that image how one day we will stand in front of God! The Creator of everything that exists and He will say those words to us. What I took away from this experience is a desire to give everything I have everyday for the people that I am serving. To give all my energy and all my love everyday because that’s what Jesus called us to do to be his faithful servants.
The second experience I wanted to share with you was what happened at our first visit to drug rehab. After we sang some worship songs, Kyla gave her testimony and I shared a short lesson, Pastor Noel dismissed the boys. He told them if anyone needed prayer they could stay behind and we would pray for them. Two of the boys stayed behind and we asked them what they needed prayer for. The older of the two said he was having bladder and urination problems. So we had the boys sit down and we placed our hands on them and started praying. Before the words could even get out of my mouth I could clearly feel the Holy Spirit running through me into the boy. Once we had finished praying I opened my eyes and looked at the young man and he was breathing very heavily and seemed like he wasn’t ready to open his eyes yet. After we gave him a few seconds we asked him what he felt. He said that he had a warm tingly sensation all throughout his body and he started breathing very heavily. An experience he said he had never felt before. There was no doubt in my mind that this was clearly the Holy Spirit working in this boy.
If it had just been left at that it would have been awesome and an amazing way for this boy to experience Jesus. But a few days later when the three other members of are team visited they reported back to us. They told us that both the boys we prayed for we completely healed and had none of the problems that they did before we prayed.
So that is what I have been experiencing and learning here in Cambodia and I am so thankful for it. Please keep praying for me and team Boundless to serve these people in Cambodia well and to keep growing closer to Him.
Thanks to all your generosity I am fully funded wish is such a blessing to not worry about any more. Butttt if your still feeling generous and God is calling you to donate more, Kyla and Laura on my team are both in need of funds to make their next deadline. I encourage you to read their profiles and ask God if He is calling you to donate and help them make the next goal.
