If you have been flowing my blogs up to this point you might be wondering where all I will be traveling, and what I will be doing. I am doing route 2 or Squad N, the countries that we are going to in order are as follows…
Philippines
Thailand
Cambodia
Vietnam
Malawi
Zambia
Zimbabwe
Ireland
Bulgaria
Moldova
Romania
I’ll be in each country for about a month starting with Philippines in January and going down the list. As for what we will be doing in these countries we are not exactly sure! Once we get to each countries we will be split up into teams and head off in different directions to meet up with other organizations or local churches. Once we meet up with these churches or organizations we are there to do whatever they need us to do. Sometimes we will have to meet new people and find where we are needed most in that area.
While in the South East Asian countries Thailand especially, we might be working with people affected by sex trafficking because it is such a big issue in that part of the world. In the African countries, (Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) the majority of the population considers themselves Christian but they are some of the poorest countries in the world. When we are here we might be working with orphans, building homes or helping provide clean drinking water. The southern-central European countries (Bulgaria, Moldova, and Romania) also have a big problem with human trafficking but in Romania I am excited because we will get to teach English, lead sports camps and live life with the gypsies in that area.
I am personally most excited to visit Ireland and the Philippines. Ireland because that’s where my ancestors are from and the beautiful countryside, the Philippines because of the beautiful South Pacific ocean that we will hopefully get to experience a lot of. That’s pretty much all I know about what I will be doing and that is part of this trip that I really like. Everyday will be an adventure and I am excited for every minute of it.
