Update from 1/3, just posting now.

It’s 6:15 PM here in Hyderabad on 1/3.  Where to begin???

After Dad left I stayed in the same spot as Dad left until Kacie Price (team leader) walked by around 3:15.  We had both been in the airport since 11!   Her flight from TX got in early.  Kelly Roberts (my finance guy) showed up around 3:30.  By 6:30 everyone had arrived except for John Hearn.  His flight sat on the tarmac for an hour, so he didn’t arrive until around 8.  We went through security at 8:30, the WR launch staff was at the gate.  Around 10 we got on the plane.

Qatar airlines are really nice! I sat in seat 36H which was an isle seat.  3-3-3 was the arrangement.  2 full service meals, slept for about 2.5 hrs, not very good.  Landed in Doha, Qatar around 7:30 PM local time.  Quickly moved through security and then to the next plane which left at 8:30.  The second flight felt much longer then the first.  We landed in Hyderabad around 3:30 am.  Got through customs then waited almost 2 hours for our baggage.  Welcome to the world race.  Hurry, wait, hurry, wait, hurry, wait.  Met up with our contact here in Hyderabad.  Grabbed food at a mcdonalds.  No burger, lots of chicken.  Nuggets tasted like nuggets.  They then loaded us into a bus and took us to retreat center/nunnery we’re staying at now.  Complete with dormitory! We had from our arrival to noon free.  We got our room keys, and I slept from 8:30 to 11 hard.  Our meals from now through Friday are prepared here by the staff.  Spicy indian food for lunch, it was good 😀

After lunch we had a squad leader and team leader brief meeting.  Found out I’ll be working in an orphanage in the town of which is 10 hours away by overnight bus.  We’ll be partnering with a team lead by John Hearn.  I was told that the town is near the shore.  Don’t know much more then that, much more will come in the following days 😀

Not sure when I’ll have time to update this.  Our days are full.  Rest of the squad arrives in 9 hours.  My travel group has training tomorrow, while they rest.  Off to dinner for more spicy Indian!
