Introducing Team SOR11

(L to R) Erin Knight, Kelly Roberts, Suzi Ibanez, Kristen Huey, and Melanee Zorrilla

Training Camp was a wild ride!  I’m still processing things.  Before I share anything else, I want to introduce you to my new family.  These are the people that God has brought together to experience this journey as a group, and to grow in intimate community together.  We’ll be living/eating/ministering together for the entire* journey.

It’s so evident that God brought this team together.  There are aspects of diving intervention in each of our stories.  This is where we need to be.  How else would a harpist, 3D animator, photographer, barista and accounting major come together only to be led around the world by a mathematician/ ultrarunner?

I’m so excited to start this journey.  9 weeks! I actually came into the week of training not wanting to lead.  I was content to follow as this is a completely new area of ministry for me.  I’d be more comfortable.  This will be my first missions trip.  As the week progressed, God put the idea of leading on my heart again and again and again.  About half way through the week we started team formation exercises, but I was stubborn and never took the lead.  So when I was pulled aside on Thursday afternoon and asked to be a team leader, I was completely caught off guard but knew it was the right thing.

I’ve linked my teammate’s blogs below, click, subscribe and follow along!
