He has a heart for God. He has a heart for people. He loves his wife and his child. He is hungry for something more, hungry for eternity.

My personality and his clash a little, but my personality and almost anyone else’s clash a little, but he, as much as anyone I know, gets it.

He signed up for his life to be changed, five or six years ago, and as far as I can tell has pursued God’s initiation with fervor and zealousness that often makes me cringe. I mean, he has a passion for God that is sometimes embarrassing to me….and convicting.

His email address is ‘old life gone’, you know, he could have just been professional and used his name for his address. He named his son after one of the ‘big three’. (in africa there is the ‘big 5’, the most hunted animals: lion, cape buffalo, elephant, leopard, and rhino) The ‘big 3’ are the men listed in Ezekiel as righteous. Noah, Job, and Daniel. He named his son, Noah.

Marc Schifano desires to be a missionary. He is in the process of pursuing this dream. He was part of our group when we went to Guyana in 2005, and he just returned to Guyana with my dad, this past spring.

Marc was one of my groomsmen. I hadn’t known him very long when I asked him to be a part of our wedding, but I knew we would be close friends for a long time, because I could see who he is. He is not really good at faking things, in fact he is probably the most vulnerable man I know.

A couple days ago, Marc was in an accident on his Harley. I don’t know all the facts, except he at least fractured his skull, has a blood clot in the head, shattered his wrist and has some other injuries. It is hard to be here and not be able to be by his side, but I hope that this prayer thing really works.

So I am asking for the readers of this blog to stand in agreement as we pray for healing for Marc.

Father, we ask in Jesus name, for healing for Marc’s body. Make him whole, even better than before. I also ask in your grace and mercy, in your love, that you will fill him with your presence, give him clear revelations of where you are leading him and his family, I ask that you will glorify yourself through this time, and (as always) your will be done, in Jesus name, AMEN.
