So what day is it? That seems to be the question I seem to keep asking myself after what ended up being an over 34 hour day(s) of travel to Kenya.
Yesterday we finally arrived in Nairobi around 6am on Sunday, after initially getting to the airport at 6pm on Friday, definitely the longest period of time I've ever spent in an airport or an airplane in my entire life.( and this is just the beginning!) Though it wasn't too bad our first flight had a touch screen with over 200 movies to choose from, two full meals served, and hot towels, so needless to say we were not expecting so much luxury. Though we seemed to be a lot more excited our time with Qatar airlines, than any of the other passengers on the plane.
Right now we are staying in a hostel in Nairobi and, are heading out at 6am to take a five hour bus ride into Saiya. I'm definitely looking forward to finally meeting up with the pastor and family that we will be staying with this month, Pastor Joseph seems very excited to see us as well which is very reassuring.
It has been interesting to meet so many people along the way already who have shared their stories, and have been an encouragement to myself and others on team already. One particular person that I met who is staying at the Malamomi Backpack hostel we are at, is a man in his fifties named Li Yuezhong, he is planning on traveling around the entire world on a bicyle, he started two years ago in China, and right now he finds himself in Kenya, and is planning on going all around Africa, and then to the ends of the earth for the next 8 years! Check out his blog at blog.sina.com/cn.bairen3326( though since it is Chinese you will need to try and put it in some kind of online translator to read it)
