What can be said? Thank you does not seem like enough. Looking back when I first made the decision to take part in the World Race, I knew that this was God's calling on my life, but honestly it seemed like an impossible feat to raise all of the support I needed to take part in this journey. Yet I have witnessed family, friends, and even people I've never met give. Through your generosity God has reminded me that He provides in ways that I cannot really comprehend. So to everyone who has given of your finances, those of you who have lifted me up in prayer, and to all who continue to encourage me as I prepare for the World Race, I thank you.
As I'm writing this I have $6,581 in my support account, and that is not even including monthly or quarterly pledges. Right now this means I have already succeeded the goal of $6,000 needed by July 18 in order to be able to start the trip! In addition to the financial blessings that you as my support family have given, God has blessed me in so many different ways as I have been preparing for this journey. Through various conversations with family, friends, and all the new friends I've met who are going to make this journey with me, I'm constantly being reminded as to why I'm doing this anyway. This is not just about me, and it is not simply about traveling around the world. If that was truly all there was to this trip, I would have given up a long time ago. Instead I am able see just how important family and community are, and how that I'm not on this journey alone.
Month One:Kenya

I'm excited to share that I recently found out what I will be doing during my first month of the World Race in Kenya. My team and I will be working with a ministry called DC Siaya in the City of Siaya. The vision of this ministry is “to preach the Gospel to our local community.” We could be involved in variety of aspects of DC Siaya that include a number of things from evangelism, working with church plants, and simply building relationships with people in the surrounding community from children to the elderly. I ask that you pray for myself, my team, and all the people we will be working with throughout Siaya and all over Kenya.

Reaching Goals:
For me one of the hardest aspects of this journey is not so much the fact that I'm going to be away from everyone and everything I know for an entire year, but that in order for this to even be a reality I have to trust the Lord will provide all of my living expenses for an entire year. Yet you as my support family have given me hope, and I'm humbled by the fact that so many of you have invested into my life. I'm over half way towards my final goal, and that is in thanks to many of you.
