Life update: Today my sleeping pad busted beyond repair after 7 long months on the Race.

It has been the host of 187 pajama parties, numerous movie nights, and dreaming sessions. It’s logged sleep numbers in eight countries and traveled more than 12,000 miles this year.

Now, as I lay in the middle of my tent on the bare ground I can’t help but think how lucky I am.

I have LIVED on this mat. I have laughed so hard chocolate milk came out my nose on this mat. I have prayed and dreamed the most amazing dreams on this mat. I have wept on this mat. I have killed spiders and lizards on this mat. I have been around the world on this mat and STILL HAVE HAD MORE THAN MOST.

Again, I am so blessed! As I lay here in my tent tonight (air mattress in busted heap next to me) I can’t help but be thankful. I’ve had a place to lay my head for the last 7 months. I’ve gotten to travel around the world for the last 7 months. That’s more than most can say!

So my prayer tonight is simple: Thank you Lord! Thank you for always giving me a place to lay my head: whether it be a comfy bed, air mattress, or the floor of my tent which is located in an area free of rocks, ant hills, or uneven ground! Thank you for always taking care of me! Thanks for adventures and new perspectives!
