June 8, 2015: I wrote these lines in my journal…

I’m giving up. Tonight my prayer is simply this:

Dear Lord,

I am tired and my heart is weak, but I am Yours.

I have been damaged, hurt, broken, and at times lost.

I am a complete and utter mess, but I am Yours always.

In your Heavenly Name I pray,

Your Messy Daughter

Amen.

Feel free to read the whole post this prayer inspired here….

Little did I know it at the time, but that was the start of this journey.  That was the night everything shifted and has lead me here….

I am extremely excited to announce that I have accepted a missionary position overseas next year on the World Race!

What is it?

The organization is called Adventures in Missions. It is a Christian based non profit organization that has been a part of many life changing events. Since 1989, they have helped launch and serve 100,000 missionaries in the field. The particular program I am doing is called the World Race. This is an 11 month mission through 11 countries.  During the World Race, I will be serving in any way I’m needed.  Each month will look a little different: from constructing buildings, painting houses, teaching, leading VBS and Bible studies, serving in orphanages and shelters for trafficking victims, or simply showing God’s love to those I come in contact with along the way.

I’m currently scheduled to depart January 7, 2016 and return November 24, 2016.

I will be serving in:

  • Dominican Republic
  • Haiti
  • Costa Rica
  • Panama
  • South Africa
  • Lesotho
  • Mozambique
  • Thailand
  • Cambodia
  • Malaysia
  • Indonesia

Mission work is something that has been weighing heavily on my heart for years and I’m looking forward to telling my story in my next few blog posts. But for now, I’m just here to ask for your love, your support and your encouragement.

I am thrilled and terrified all at the same time.  I’m about to embark on a life changing journey.  I pray that you will consider being a part of it.

How can you help?

  1. Pray. Please pray with me and my Squad as we meet challenges daily. Pray that the Lord’s will be done and for those lives we encounter.  Pray for our safety and strength throughout our time together.
  2. Words of Encouragement. Everyone needs a support system, this will be CRUCIAL during the Race.  11 months away from friends and family, the comforts of home, missing holidays, and at times no electricity or access to running water: I will definitely need encouragement. I’ve listed at the bottom of this post all of my contact information.  If you would, please consider following and subscribing, so that throughout my Race you can stay in touch.
  3. Donate. As a part of my trip, I will need to raise $17,500.  This will cover all of my travel expenses throughout the year, my health insurance, my gear, and all vaccinations needed prior to traveling.

How Can You Give?:

1.) To donate by Credit Card/Bank Transfer- Go to the “Support Me” tab next to my blog on the left hand side. There are various options for making a one-time, monthly, or quarterly gift by credit card or bank transfer. (This is the fastest and most basic way to donate)

2.) To donate by Checks/Money Order- make payable to Adventures in Missions with my name Scarlett McCall in the memo line. Please send to Adventures in Missions, PO box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570.

3.) To donate monthly by EFT (dynapay)- Go to adventures.org/dynapay/ to fill out an online form for a monthly Electronic Funds Transfer from a checking account. This option has no transaction fee.

All recorded donations are tax deductible.

I want to do life with you and adventure together. Please join my team today and follow my race!
