CGA has started!! That’s right this little lady bought a new lunch box and is back in school!  Last Monday 20 of us piled under a circus tent in the front lawn of AIM and had our first week of classes.  We are currently going through the book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, learning our Myers Briggs personality type (I’m an ESFP) and learning about our temperament. (My highest score was the harmonizer.) If you’ve never taken these test before, DO IT.  It’s been so interesting to see what we all are and who we work well with.  Also each day we will start by working in an office department.  So last week the staff had a draft of all the CGA students and placed us in various departments.  My department placement is, drumroll please……..  ENCOUNTER!!!!!!!                                                                                                                                                                         Encounter will be sending out 6,150 people on various short term trips this year, and I am lucky enough to be a part of the team.  Encounter department has 18 staff members that take care of everything for those trips and gets those people mobilized.  Within Encounter there are 3 programs:

  1. Adventures Encounter- This is for ages 18+. These trips include family, relief, custom, trek and groups or individuals wanting to go out and serve.
  2. Adventures Youth- This is for ages 13-18.  These trips normally run from 5-12 days.
  3. Ambassador- This is for ages 14-18. They run from 1-4 weeks and are for individuals only.

SO this year I am getting real life experience on how a non-profit runs and what it takes for all of this craziness to happen.  I am getting leadership schooling, which will equip me and push me to follow my own dreams/callings. And get this, at the end of the year I will get to put it all to the test and lead a trip!!! I’m so pumped knowing that I will get to go back out to the nations at the end of this year and share what I’ve been learning!

With all that to say, I still need both prayer support and financial support.  I’m looking for people to partner monthly with me over the next year to make this happen.  If I can get 27 people to donate $23 monthly then I will be covered for the entire year.   If you are interested in partnering with me this year please send me an email at [email protected], it is tax-deductible.   If you would like to make a donation of any kind please visit my blog at savannahrowland.theworldrace.org. On the left hand side there is a tab that says Support this Lady and will walk you through the donation.  Thank you again for believing in me, praying for me and supporting me in my journey with the Lord.
