This past month in Romania we have gotten to love on two orphan familes here at Caminal Felix. One family in particular captured my heart. Zolie and his wife Andrea have traded thier average, everyday lives to raise 10 abandonded orphans. They took three families of children in as their own and started a not so little family here on a dairy farm, in the middle of Romania. This family loves like I've never seen. Each afternoon has been filled with joy as I enter their home, greeted with smiles and hugs. As my heart has grown for this family , the Lord has been revealing himself to me in new ways.
This month has taught me to embrace my child-like faith. I'm fairly new to this Christian walk of life, often finding myself overwhlemed by the vast knowledge of others around me. But this month I keep finding a little part of myself in these children. These children who have been left behind by those who were supposed to love them most are having to re-identify their view of love and trust. They now have new parents, new brothers, new sisters all telling them this is now home. This is now your safe place where you can find unconditional love. They are learning to trust the process and trust that they are again part of a family. In the same way I'm learning to trust the process. I'm learning that the Lord's love for me is deep, always pursuing and most of all safe. I'm re-identifing myself in Christ and His love for me. And to think this is just the begining.
