I’m 23 years old and about to embark on the adventure of a life time. The journey to this point has been one of many lessons, questions, heartbreak, support, love, and both answered and unanswered prayers. I’m so excited about this chance to grow with the love and support of a family of strangers. LET THE WILD RUMPUS START!!!
To be honest I have been avoiding starting this blog in fear of being transparent to the cyber world as well as my thoughts being meaningless to the few who will probably choose to follow. Regardless here is my first attempt.
-I grew up in a loving home in Liberty, Missouri with my mom, dad, and little brother. We are super close and run completely on sarcasm. My brother is my favorite person in the world and while we very much play the brother and sister roles, I also tend to be a second mother figure, which I’m not sure he always appreciates! My dad and I are the most alike; we are both out spoken and have a sincere love for music. He understands my heart for wanting to help others in the world and while loving my very much will challenge my point of view just to help me see that my way is not always right. My mom is one of my best friends and I very much get my sense of humor from her. My mom is the hardest working person I know; always putting others needs before her own and making it well known that she loves you very, very much.
-Dance has always been the focal point in my life. From competing every weekend and traveling for national titles, to cheering on my Mizzou Tigers in my gold sequins and white go-go boots and now teaching a group of wonderful students, who I am so sad to leave.
– My group of high school friends includes 15 amazing people who really have nothing in common other than we each think we are the funniest group of people out there and it totally works! We have grown up together in the same basement since 8th grade and constantly hug and say I love you. I see this as a rare quality that all 15 of us still remain a close family after four years of college and living in the real world.
-I accepted Jesus as my Savior the summer of my sophomore year in high school at a summer camp called Kanakuk, yet did not start to live a life of Christ until my junior year in college. I worked at Kanakuk for two full summers and it totally changed my life and got me to start taking my walk with the Lord seriously. My last two Christmas’s in college I spent a week in Harmons, Jamaica on a mission trip with 50 other Greek students. The trips to Harmons were my first glimpse into the field of missions and my heart was hooked from there.
-The Jamaica trips revamped my college experience, changing my entire group of friends. I now for the first time had friends who also loved the Lord and wanted to serve him. This group of people has helped guide me into the person I am today. They supported me when I dropped out of college after four years with no degree. They supported my longing to travel and help people across the world. They have listened to my fears, my unrealistic ideas of a life plan, and always encouraged me to go where my heart was leading rather than where society says I should be. I can always count on them for a laugh, cry, hug and especially a dance/karaoke party!
Random Facts:
-My middle name is Montana (no this is not a joke; my name really is Savannah Montana)
-My brother and I have the same birthday, exactly four years apart!

-I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 13, and my favorite food is pumpkin pie (I’m super nervous about the food on the trip).
-I sleep with a chicken (Gwendolyn) and an ugly doll (ugly) every night, which I should probably be embarrassed about but I’m totally not.
-I love dinosaurs and have a bunch of them in my room.
-I never know the real words to a song and often think my voice sounds good when in all reality it’s horrific (I’m praying the big guy will help me with this one haha, but really).
-I’m obsessed with tennis shoes, I’m not talking like athletic shoes (I don’t work out or know how) I’m talking like a good pair of Nike dunks!
