If you have ever left the country for any length of time you know that you very quickly find that you miss the foods that you love. You could eat the same kind of foods, but it just isn’t the same! This is no different for us, in fact it is sometimes quite the problem. It’s a topic that very easily takes over many conversations!

You start a conversation about how you are excited to move to Georgia for CGA and then all of a sudden you are talking about southern food and how awesome it is going to be, which turns into fried chicken, that almost immediately transitions into Chik-fil-a (World Racers LOVE Chik-fil-a). Typically you stay stuck on Chik-fil-a for a while because they offer so much; for example, fried chicken sandwiches, pickles, honey mustard, chik-fil-a sauce, lemonade, sweet tea, dr. pepper, oreo milkshakes, more chicken, and cheesecake. You can see how it would be easy to be stuck on that topic for a long time!

Sometimes the conversation continues but most of the time somebody will stop it because they literally cannot think about the food that they miss so much anymore. It’s a slippery slope I tell ya.

Today was another one of those days where you just have to talk about the food that you can’t wait to eat again! My choice of the day was blueberry waffles. I love me some blueberry waffles!!! Our food conversation did not go on and on this morning, we simply said what we want to eat and went on about our business; not really thinking twice about it…but today turned out to be a very special day for me!

While Kelli and I were out we came across a food stand, one that sold waffles! The aroma was so enticing that I could not help but look, and guess what I saw….blueberry and cream cheese waffles! OMG!!! So today I was super blessed to have the food that my heart longed for; and I could not have been more excited about it. I couldn’t help but giggle to myself. I even considered taking a picture to instagram, but then decided that it would take too much time and I had a waffle to eat!

So here is what I was reminded of from my waffle story today:

God really does care about us, and He really does want to give us the things that we want. Because as we align our hearts with His heart, our desires become His desires. Now I am not saying that it was God’s will that I have a blueberry waffle today…I don’t know, what I am saying is that He delights in me because I delight in Him; and I like it very much!
