So this morning we went to our ministry at the school for kids with Special Needs; and it was awesome!! I spent my time helping this precious young adult woman put together puzzles on the computer! It was pretty challenging at first, with the language barrier and all, but we figured things out; and we had so much fun doing it!
But eventually our time was up and it was time to load up in the back of the truck and drive home! But the thing is that it is so hot today…and every time the truck would stop and the wind would disappear it was as if we would dehydrate right then and there!
We finally made it home and ran for shelter from the scorching sun, but the door was locked and nobody was answering! We did everything that we could think of to break in, but nothing worked out! We lost all hope in the possibility of opening the door, and we were convinced that nobody was home; so one by one we dropped to the concrete, huddled under the little awning so as not to be touched by the sun.
After sitting there for a good 20 minutes, convinced that we would die, two heroines came to the rescue. Johanna came down the street, and Suzy came down the stairs (yes, she was inside, asleep the entire time!!). We were saved, and it was wonderful!! We got water, put on shorts, and made it through!!
Now I do realize that this is totally dramatic, and we were in absolutely no danger of becoming dehydrated, or wasting away to nothingness; it was simply a joke that we had the entire time that we were waiting for our salvation!
The real reason that I am writing this blog is to tell you that I currently have $9,113 in my World Race account…this is incredible to me!! But I have a deadline coming up at the end of March, and by that deadline I need to have $11,000 in that account; which means that I need $1,887 more by that day…but really I don't enjoy fundraising from the field so I am going to go ahead and say that I need a grand total of $15,500 dollars in my account by the end of March…that is just $6,387!!
I know that God is totally capable of making this happen, and I just ask that you would pray and consider what it is that He wants you to do with regard to this. It may be something, or it may be nothing…I just ask that you pray and consider. And should guide impress upon your heart to give in any way, I will make it as simple as possible for you. All you have to do is hit the Support Me! link to the left of this blog (under my picture) and put in the information that it asks for. Not hard at all!! And I would totally appreciate it!
