We have been in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a week. Sooo much has gone on and so much has changed. When we arrived in KL on Monday morning around 5 am, we took a train to the bus station where we were meeting our contact Pastor Edwin who is one of the pastors at Tamil Methodist Church.

About 2 hours later he shows up and takes us to our first place to stay, the hostel was called PODs. It has bunk beds, showers, western toilets, and WiFi! When we arrived he told us we could have to day off and rest because he did not know what our ministry was going to be like. So we took showers and chilled out before we ventured off into the city. We first went and ate our first Malaysian meal then we went and visited the National Mosque.

Once we got back Pastor Edwin's friend Mark came over and talked to us a little bit about his ministry (its very secretive so cant post on the web about it). He told us that 4 of us would go with him a few hours from KL and do some projects for 2 days, and then 3 would stay back in KL. Me Sarah and Alexa decided to stay back. Pastor Edwin told us that we would possibly be working with a American while she does ministry with women. I cant tell you much about the ministry we are doing because the internet is watched very carefully here. I would love to tell you story after story of what we are doing but I have to protect the safety of the ministry here. I can tell you that I am doing similar work as I did in Thailand last summer.

On Wed. we had decided that staying at PODs was a luxury but also was way out of our budget. So Pastor Edwin called around and found us a place to stay across the street at another church. So we moved all our stuff across the street to a church called SIB, where the pastor there is also Pastor Edwin. They were kind enough to let us stay here free. While it is not as nice as PODs where we have bucket showers and squatty potty and not to mention rats in the ceiling as we hear them run across every now and then. We are blessed to have a roof over our head and a safe place to stay. There are also 2 other pastors that work with Pastor Edwin and they are form Fiji. They are all super nice and very generous.

Oh by the way for all those wondering, its hot here, I mean obviously but the humidity is what really makes it hot here. It has also raining almost everyday. And the food is pretty awesome. There is a good variety whether it is Malay food, Indian food, or Chinese food. But since our ministry contact is American we have had some good American food also!

We have 2 more weeks left here, and I already know it is going to be tough to leave. We have already invested so much, and I know I will be leaving a part of my heart here. Malaysia was never on my top country list, but since coming, and since ministrying to the people of Malaysia, I have grown to love the people here.
