Sept 3rd was the start of the dreadful heart hurting goodbyes. First was my brother who I will miss more than words. My sweet brother who would do anything for me if I needed him. My sweet brother who I wont get to see for 11 months. My heart was heavy and hurting from that one.
Sept 4th was full of final goodbyes to my puppies who I will miss their cuddles and sweetness. I also had to say what I thought was going to be our last goodbye to my parents. That one was the hardest, me and my parents have spent many hours and days together this summer. We arrived in Chicago around 8am and took a dreadful taxi drive to the hotel, we took naps, then traveled into the city to get some good Chicago deep dish pizza. yum yum!
Sept 5th was a full day of being reunited with my squad. lots of hugs and laughter happened that day! We sat around in the lobby most of the day catching up and hanging out. It was there where I was sitting that I saw my sweet sweet parents walk through my hotel doors to surprise me after time after time they told me they couldn't come to launch because they had to work. It was the best surprise I could have gotten before leaving. I was so happy they got to meet some of my new family!
Sept 6th was a full day of sessions teaching us things we need to remember while on the field. we did a ATL (ask the Lord) treasure hunt where we ATL who or where we can bless someone at. Several of my teammates got visions and words from the Lord. So we prayed over some of the World Race staff and also made PB&J sandwiches for the housecleaning staff here at the hotel. After that we had one last lunch with our parents before we had to get back to sessions and they had to catch flights,etc.
Sept 7th more sessions about ministry and field work. we also learned some final location and flight stuff. It is official that after Malaysia we will be going to Australia, then Vietnam then Cambodia, after that we are not sure. Also we fly out TOMORROW! Can you believe it? I cant! So we are flying out of Chicago TOMORROW at 3:25pm, layover in Hong Kong from 8pm-1:30am, and then FINALLY ARRIVE in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at 5:10am Monday, September 10th!
I am so excited for what the Lord has in store for me the next 11 months. I am sad about leaving and not seeing my family and friends for 11 months but this is going to be a amazing experience. This is def going to be a great adventure full of experiences of a lifetime!
Thank you so much for your prayers and support! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers has we fly out tomorrow and arrive at our ministry sites on Monday. Ill update when I can in MALAYSIA!
