Okay so the title of this blog is a complete lie. I don’t speak any Spanish, none at all, but my friend Brooke does. She can keep a conversation going for a little bit. So after ministry one day we went out in the park to pray for people.
We met this man named Veniceo and he sold ice cream from his bike in the park. He was so sweet, we found out all about his family and job and we also found out that he could not see out of one of his eyes. So me and Brooke got to tell him all about Jesus and asked him if we could pray for his eye.
As we were praying for his eye I began praying in tongues, the spiritual gift I received, and after we were done praying for him he looks me straight in the eyes and says in his very broken English, “You speak Spanish really good!” I am very surprised by this statement because I don’t speak any Spanish. I look at Brooke and point to her and try to tell him it’s Brooke that can speak Spanish not me. But he is persistent that I speak Spanish really good. I turn to Brooke to try to get her to help me and she looks at me with unbelief. She says “Savannah you were just praying in tongues! Don’t you remember?” And that’s when it all clicked, the Holy Spirit spoke to him through me. He heard my gibberish of praying in tongues as Spanish because the Holy Spirit wanted to tell him something.
I don’t know what I said to him and I never will, but whatever I said made him want to immediately go to church. He started asking us where a church was that he could go to. So we gave him an address to a local church near by and even though God didn’t heal his eye that day He spoke to his heart.
