2014 is the year I’ve been waiting for. I am finally embarking on the World Race. I would say I’m finally starting the journey, but that journey began November 2012 when I was accepted. It has been LONG and HARD, but it has been the learning experience of all learning experiences.
2013 was a year that I will always remember.
I began my World Race prep (actually in late 2012).
I almost failed a college class.
I got through said stress of college only with the help of my U Squad friends.
Speaking of, I made friends who will be in my wedding.
I graduated college.
I had a great internship in Memphis over the summer.
I went to training camp.
I cried A LOT and missed my U squad A LOT.
I went back to training camp.
I fell in love with another squad, the A squad.
I got a fun job with some awesome people.
I was in denial that this race thing was real and I was REALLY leaving in FOUR DAYS.
It’s the new year and I have been doing a lot of thinking as to what 2014 will look like for me. I have been trying to come up with all the things that I want to work at this coming year and all of the things that I hope to accomplish throughout the year.
11I want to learn what freedom looks like. The freedom to love God and spend an entire year with Him is a beautiful thing.
2. I want to love the unlovable. “…to be in a relationship with God is to be loved purely and furiously. And a person who thinks himself unlovable cannot be in a relationship with God because he can’t accept who God is; a Being that is love. We learn that we are lovable or unlovable from other people…That is why God tells us so many times to love each other.” ??I want to love those who have never felt loved. I want to show people what God’s love looks like. Not just on the race but in my everyday life as well. I want to learn to love like God. ?
3.Increase my spicy food tolerance. Yes, this one is less serious but I feel like it could be just as important to my ministry in the next year.
4. Get into shape. I’ve been working on this one and Team Awakening is going to help me continue my progress. Between my resistance bands, Hil’s jump rope, and D’s p90x, we’re golden! I want to run with the orphans, climb volcanoes and mountains, and be able to jump for joy for Jesus. I know it sounds cliche but this year, I don’t want my body to put any limitations on the work I can do for God. I want to be all I can be for Him.?
5. Dig deeper into the word. I’ve been craving it lately, wanting to know what all is in there and what all God has to say to me in those words. I want to learn all that I can about why things were said, whom they were said to, and what that means for me.
6. Blog.
I leave Monday Jan. 6th for Atlanta and the 9th for Guatemala City. We just found out that Team Awakening will be working at “The Street Revolution” for the month. Check out thestreetrevolution.com for info on the ministry! We don’t know specifics of what we’ll be doing yet but I will update you! If you would like to keep in touch, you can download VIBER, a free texting app, or use iMessage to send me texts ([email protected]). Also, whenever I have access to internet I will check my email!
