Wow, where do I start?
It’s crazy to think one year ago today I was accepted on the world race, and what I didn’t know was how my life would change.
Going into month 6, you become pretty good at this whole “world race lifestyle,” and you start to become confident in yourself.
However, one thing you can’t become confident in is being comfortable. In month 6, God brought up a pretty major root that I struggle with a lot in my life, something I think a lot of us struggle with: needing man’s approval.
In my life, I hated being the one who caused conflict or had a different opinion, but I have learned that we are called to have a different opinion. We’re called to have God’s opinion!
1 Peter 4 says, “As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather the will of God. If anyone should speak, speak the very words of God. Do not be surprised at the painful trail you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice, for you are blessed when you are insulted.”
As you can see, that verse says it all! God calls us to live by his approval, not man’s!
We are called to live set apart and not of this world. We should not be mad if no one understands our life and the decisions we make. Instead, we need to rejoice and show them deep, unconditional love!
I am learning that no matter what I do, if I live by man’s expectation, I will fail. I will never be satisfied and I’ll never find true happiness.
However, when I truly live by the expectation of Jesus, my father, I find not only joy but also love and complete fulfillment! Just as my Lord took punishment, judgment, and even death to show his people the way of true happiness, that’s what we’re called to do as well.
We’re called to live by his truth and stand up for the will of our father, which is loving our brothers and sisters unconditionally, loving them deeply just as Jesus loves us. I am not the judge, but I am the living, active word of God, and I am here to show others the joy you can have when you choose to live in God’s expectations and be set apart from the world.
God wants us to live uncomfortably! These past 7 months that’s all my life has been. I am never comfortable, and the more I am uncomfortable, the more the Lord can teach and use me. He calls me to lay down my life and go get his children, and that’s what I am doing!
Each month when I let go, trust, and don’t walk in fear, he uses me to witness and love people all around me. Not only my community of brothers and sisters on the race, but those out on the streets and everywhere I go. Every month I have been able to witness to the orphans, street kids, random people on buses, women in prostitution, hostels, drunks, churches, broken families, the sick, the homeless, the poor, those who believe in other gods, and those who don’t believe in anything!
See when he calls us to live in his expectations and out of the world’s expectations, we are able to truly show all of God’s children what true, unconditional, set apart love means. That’s what I am here for. My life is not mine but what the Lord calls me to be. Even if I endure suffering, painful trials, or judgment, I am constantly in my Father’s will, and I have never found more joy and hope than when I am walking with my daddy. He wants that for all his children. We just need to take our blinders off and allow God to be God. It’s time to stand up, stand out, and allow God to have full control. Stop worrying, if we’re the odd ones out. That means we’re doing something right, and we’re right where we need to be: living in God’s not man’s will.
Remember I am still fundraising!!! I got a extension and have under two weeks in order to raise 1,949.00 dollars! Thank you to everyone who has donated and please consider partnering with me and doing it again! Not only are you changing my life, but you’re allowing me to go and reach the unloved and broken. You are planting seeds in people’s hearts for who they are called to be!
This is not just a trip or an adventure or sightseeing, it’s a lifestyle! It’s what me and you are called to live for the rest of our lives!!!! Please keep me on my race and see how much more God can use me! We’re called to live out his kingdom on earth, and that starts with you and me. That starts when we let go and allow God to move in and through us, even when we don’t see the full effect of what we did.
Just step out of your expectations and trust!
