There are two kids we have regularly around the house this month, a sister and brother. Benji was wearing a shirt yesterday that said, “Little Hero”. It was one of the most adorable things of the Race for me.
I started thinking about those two words, “future hero”. Why do we tell kids they are future heroes? Why do we tell them they can change the world some day? Why not tell them they can change the world now? Otherwise, they will grow up looking for a future time at which they will change the world. What if they are always searching and never actually doing anything to change the world?
I’ll tell you what, I’d rather call all those amazing children “Little Heroes”. Then they know they are heroes now, and can change the world around them even as a child. They will have an identity of helping now, rather than waiting for something else.
